In 1944, the Parachute Battalion had a full strength of 613 men, including 29 officers e 584 other ranks. The parachute fanteria section of ten men was divided into due tactical maneuver elements, a gun group of tre men, ed a rifle group of six men, commanded by a sergeant. The gun group was equipped con una mitragliatrice leggera Bren, a 2" mortar, ed un fucile da tiratore scelto. Depending on the tactical situation, the Sergeant would lead the gun group o rifle group, e the Corporal took charge of the other element.
