Fanteria Tedesca delle Prima Guerra Mondiale, 1916–1918

Recensione dei Figurini Revell in Scala 1:72

Fanteria Tedesca delle Prima Guerra Mondiale, 1916–1918, 1:72 Soldatini Revell 02504

Universal soldiers: The soldatini pictured here are fanteria bulgara in the Balkan campaign of 1941, o fanteria ungherese in the Russian campaign of the same year. Conversion is not required, the soldatini need only be painted in khaki uniforms.

Timeless Design

The elmetto d’acciaio design tedesdco was based on a similar elmetto worn in the middle ages, which covered much of the wearer’s face e neck ed offered excellent protection. The front of the elmetto d’acciaio M.1916 could be fitted con an additional plate of armour which rested on metal pegs on either side of the elmetto e was secured con a leather strap around the back. The armour plating was impratical in the field, but it was used by sentries during in the many months of protracted trench warfare. The basic elmetto design was changed very little when the M.1935 version was issued, ed it became a symbol of oppression in the years until 1945.

The German Bundeswehr did not adopt the politically incorrect elmetto after la seconda guerra mondiale, opting for a version based on the elmetto M1 americano instead. However, in 1982, the US Army re-discovered its practical shape ed issued a very similar elmetto design which is now popularly know as elmetto Fritz. Experience from the Grenada invasion showed that the new design e the Kevlar material does offer much better protection than earlier models of elmetti d’acciaio. Il elmetto Fritz is now seen in the esercito francese, in the Franco-German brigade ed it is worn by German UN forces.

Valutazione

  • Nicely detailed soldatini. Folds in the uniform, elmetti d’acciaio, blanket rolls, mess kits, canteens, haversacks, puttees, entrenching tools, stick grenades, pouches ed armi are well sculpted ed easy to paint. The soldatini are correctly proportioned, they are slightly taller than the fanteria francese from the same manufacturer e their heads ed elmetti are noticeably larger.
  • Very useful poses, these soldatini are nearly perfect. The chosen standard poses are very natural in appearance, they seem almost tame compared to some of the excessively heroic figure types we have seen elsewhere. Interestingly, when they are displayed in large groups, these soldatini appear to be more variably posed than they actually are. They make excellent diorama o wargaming soldatini.
  • Good casting quality, very little flash.
  • Soldati con elmetti d’acciaio M.1916 are not different enough from the soldati tedeschi della seconda guerra mondiale to make this set a success in the market. Revell has missed an historic opportunity, they might have chosen the elmo Pickelhaube as the most stereotypical piece of equipaggiamento tedesco in the Great War. However, the soldatini con elmetti d’acciaio are more versatile, they cover the entire German fanteria after 1916, allowing the gamer e collector to ignore the confusing variety of headdress of the early war years.

Utilizzo Storico

  • Fanteria Tedesca, 1916–1918
  • Fanteria bulgara, 1941
  • Fanteria ungherese, 1941
  • Anti-Tank dogs dell’armata russa, 1942

These Revell soldatini set a high standard in figure design e sculpting detail. The soldiers are correctly proportioned, naturally posed e properly equipped. The soldatini are very compatibile con eachother ed a useful figure mix has been chosen. These soldiers look really spectacular when they are painted e displayed in large groups; they form a cohesive unit e not one of the poses disturbes the overall effect. We would like to see more soldatini sets of this quality, WWI fanteria britannica e Highlanders perhaps.
