Reggimento Dragoni Zweibrücken

Esercito Austriaco della Guerra dei Sette Anni, 1757–1763

By convention dated 9 settembre 1701, Markgraf Christian Ernst von Brandenburgo-Bayreuth raised a dragoni reggimento of quattro companies for servizio imperiale. The reggimento was later increased by eight companies recruited in Bohemia. Between 1757 e 1781 the current Pfalzgraf von Zweibrücken-Birkenfeld acted as Inhaber of the regiment.

In 1760, Dragoner-Regiment Zweibrücken was converted to a reggimento cavalleggeri. During the Guerra dei Sette Anni il reggimento fought at the Battles of Prag, Kolin, Breslau, Leuthen, e Hochkirch.

Dragoner-Regiment Zweibrücken was distinguished from Dragoner-Regiment Batthyany by its red shoulder-strap.
