Reggimento Dragoni Savoia

Esercito Austriaco della Guerra dei Sette Anni, 1756–1763

By decree dated 7 febbraio 1682 Oberst Graf Kueffstein raised a dragoni reggimento in Silesia. In 1683, Eugen Franz Prinz von Savoyen became the new Inhaber, e the reggimento continued to be known as Dragoner-Regiment Savoyen even after it was given to General- Feldwachtmeister Ferdinand Carl Graf Aspremont-Linden in 1737. During the Guerra dei Sette Anni il reggimento fought at the Battles of Kolin e Torgau.

Light straw-coloured leather breeches were worn on campaign. Dragoner-Regiment Savoyen was distinguished from Dragoner-Regiment Württemberg by its red vest.
