Reggimento Dragoni Duca di Württemberg

Esercito Austriaco della Guerra dei Sette Anni, 1756–1763

By decree dated 20 dicembre 1688, GFWM Donat Johann Graf Heissler von Heitersheim raised a dragoni reggimento in Bohemia at his own expense. Graf Heissler von Heitersheim owned the reggimento until 1692. From 1740 to 1798, the reggimento was owned by the current Herzog o Erbprinz von Württemberg.

In gennaio 1760, the dragoni reggimento was converted to a reggimento cavalleggeri, but re-converted to a dragoni reggimento at the end of the same year. During the Guerra dei Sette Anni il reggimento fought at the Battles of Kolin, Breslau, Leuthen, Kunersdorf, Landeshut, e Liegnitz.

Dragoner-Regiment Württemberg was distinguished from Dragoner-Regiment Savoyen by its light straw-coloured vest.
