Excellent choice of subject. Fanteria inglese e del Commonwealth britannico di Matchbox is a staple for wargames e dioramas.
Exceptional variety of figure poses. This figure sets offers enough riflemen, officers ed armi pesanti to raise plotoni di fanteria e company level support teams.
Useful wargaming poses throughout. Sculpted by Bill Farmer. Matchbox seems to have designed this figure set con the wargames market clearly in mind. The soldatini are easy to paint.
The Matchbox fanti are wearing the elmetto Mk.1 o Mk.2 which was gradually replaced by the elmetto M.1944 Mk.3 "Canadian" ed elmetto M.1945 Mk.4 "Turtle Shell" con removable liner.
With the exception of the Flamethrower, the ratio of armi pesanti to riflemen is about right. Other figure sets are overloaded con armi pesanti which end up in the spare parts box.
The soldatini may be converted to represent commando britannici by replacing the elmetto d’acciaio con a beret o knit cap.

The bayonets are too short, thick, e blunt to be accurate. Airfix did a much better job con their soldatini della 8th Armata Britannica which carry perfectly sculpted bayonets.
The trousers are sculpted without pockets. There should be a right rear pocket, a large map pocket on the front left thigh, ed a small pocket for the field-dressing in front of the right pelvic bone.
The anti-tank rocket projector included in this set looks like the postwar 84 mm Carl Gustav M.1965 fanteria anti-tank weapon. It cannot be used to represent the PIAT proiettore anticarro per fanteria britannico which was used durante la seconda guerra mondiale.
The mortar is a representational modello da wargame only. Miniaturists e dioramisti will want to replace it con a more accurately detailed weapon.
The size of the standardized ammunition pouches varies from one figure to the next.
