Commando Britannici, 1940–1945
Recensione dei Figurini Matchbox in Scala 1:76
A mixed wargame formation of Commando britannici produced by Matchbox ed Airfix. The soldatini are based for the popular Crossfire game system. The Matchbox soldatini are shorter e thinner than their Airfix brothers, but they do mix quite well. In fact, the Airfix set is superior in quality, e the Matchbox Commandos are best used to add variety in a unit. The Matchbox figure sets were sculpted by Bill Farmer.

Valutazione
- Excellent choice of subject. The Commandos participated in all major campaigns from 1940 to 1945.
- Exceptional variety in figure poses. The kneeling officer, prone Bren gunner, e the man throwing a grenade are superb soldatini.
- The soldatini may be converted to represent fanteria regolare by replacing the knit cap con un elmetto d’acciaio.
- The anklets are too tall.
- The Fairbairn-Sykes Daggers are sculpted incorrectly, they look like knives o bayonets.
- Ammunition bandoleers, toggle ropes, entrenching tools, e fanteria packs are missing. Leather jerkins became popular con the Commandos, but they are not in evidence on any of the soldatini.
- Some of the poses are similar to previously released Airfix Commando poses, but not nearly
as well sculpted.
Utilizzo Storico
- Commandos dell’esercito britannico, 1940–1945
- Combined Operations Assault Pilotage Parties (COPP), 1941–1945
- Royal Marine Commandos Britannici, 1942–1945
- Royal Navy Commandos Britannici, 1942–1945
Conversioni Possibili
- No. 10 (Inter Allied) Commando 1942-45. Replace the knit cap con national headgear, like the elmetto Adrian M.1915 worn by members francesi of No. 10 Commando.
- Fanteria inglese e del Commonwealth britannico, 1939–1945
Bibliografia
The Commandos are a welcome addition to the large range of fanteria inglese. With the exception of their commando sweaters, the troops are modelled in standard equipaggiamento della fanteria. Knit caps were not uncommon among fanteria regolare, although the elmetto d’acciaio would be worn in battle.
