Hildesheim durante le Guerre Napoleoniche, 1803–1815
The Michaeliskirche at Hildesheim, famous for its painted wood ceiling dating back al XII secolo. The Bishopric of Hildesheim was incorporated into the regno di Prussia following the Reichsdeputationshauptschluß of 25 febbraio 1803. The Bishop retired from government e received a pension of 50,000 Tlr (Talers). In 1806, Imperatore Napoleon defeated Prussia, e Hildesheim temporarily became part of Francia until it was taken into the regno di Westfalia nel 1807.
