Reggimento Fanteria Principe Ysenburg

Landgraviato d’Assia-Kassel, 1756–1763

Reggimento Fanteria was owned by Prince Johann Casimir zu Ysenburg, the younger brother of Generalleutnant assiano Prinz Christian Ludwig zu Ysenburg. The reggimento was in English pay during the Guerra dei Sette Anni, to fight for the anglo-prussiano alliance. From 1756 to late 1757, the unit deployed to England con the Hessian expeditionary force, to avert the danger of a invasione francese. After its return alla Germania, Reggimento Fanteria Prinz Ysenburg served con the allied Army of Observation fighting the imperial Reichsarmee e combined armata francese in western Germania.

The dark blue uniform con straw-coloured facings e white lace makes this reggimento a prime choice for giocatori wargame interested in building a colourful army of the XVIII secolo. La fanteria d’Assia-Cassel was dressed ed equipped in the fashion prussiano.

Generalmajor Prinz Johann Casimir zu Ysenburg fell at the Battle of Bergen, 1759. He was one of the highest-ranking caduti della Guerra dei Sette Anni.
