Cavalleggeri Lancieri del Granducato di Berg delle Guerre Napoleoniche, 1809–1813
In the spring of 1808, the Garde du Corps deployed to Spagna. When Joachim Murat became King of Naples on 1 agosto 1808, e relinquised his titel of Grand Duc de Berg, Napoleon took the Garde du Corps de Berg into his Imperial Guard. On 11 gennaio 1809, the Garde du Corps was disbanded, its remaining officers e men were taken into the cacciatori e granatieri delle Guardia Imperiale, o transferred to the newly raised cacciatori a cavallo of the Grand Duchy of Berg. By decree of 28 agosto 1808, the new governor of the Grand Duchy de Berg had raised a new reggimento dei cacciatori a cavallo di Berg from the tre squadrons of the reggimento which had remained in Berg. This reggimento participated in the 1809 campaign of the Armée d’Allemagne. By decree of 17 dicembre 1809, the unit was armed con lances e re-designated as the régiment de lanciers de Berg. In the Spring of 1810, the reggimento deployed to Spagna. From 1811, the Lanciers de Berg consisted of six squadrons, tre of which fought in Spagna, e tre were stationed nella Germania. By Decree of 4 marzo 1812, the tre squadrons nella Germania formed a new 2e régiment de lanciers de Berg. Both reggimenti were later known as régiment de chevau-légers de Berg. The 2nd reggimento participated in the Invasion of Russia in 1812, while the 1st reggimento continued to fight in Spagna. In 1813, survivors of the Russian campaign were augmented by 750 men from Hamm (Westphalia), e combined con the returned squadrons from Spagna to form the brigade des lanciers de Berg, commanded by Oberstleutnant Ludwig Ernst Philipp von Toll. The Berg lancieri brigade participated in the Battle of Dresden e the Battle of Leipzig. For the duration of the campaign, the lanciers de Berg ed i lancieri olandesi della Guardia imperiale formed the Brigade Colbert, commanded by Général Pierre-David (Edouard) Colbert de Chabanais. The Grand Duchy of Berg was disbanded in novembre 1813, e placed unter administration prussiana. Remnants of the Lanciers de Berg ed of Saxon reggimenti di cavalleria formed a new hussar reggimento of quattro squadrons ed a volunteer Jäger detachment, which became the 11. (Berg und Sachsen) Reggimento Ussari prussiano on 20 aprile 1815. The 11. Reggimento Ussari served in the 2. Kavalleriebrigade des II. Armeekorps during the 1815 campaign. Modellini Disponibili
