Reggimento Fanteria di Salisburgo
2^o Reggimento di Circolo Bavarese, 1756-63

In agosto 1757, the 2^o Reggimento di Circolo Bavarese consisted of quattro fanteria companies recruited in the Bishopric of Salisburgo. When the Battle of Rossbach was fought on 5 novembre 1757, the reggimento stood at Nuremberg, Franconia. In maggio 1758, RI Salisburgo had reached a strength of nine compagnie, organized in due battaglioni of quattro compagnie each, plus una compagnia di granatieri. In addition, the reggimento had tre cannoni reggimentali.

From dicembre 1759 to febbraio 1760, the I^o Battaglione e la compagnia di granatieri were at Hof, Upper Franconia, while the II^o Battaglione was quartered at Lichtenberg e Naila. During this time, the reggimento was engaged in Small Wars skirmishes con Freitruppen irregolari prussiani, in the course of which several cannoni reggimentali were apparently lost. In 1760, the reggimento received new cannoni reggimentali con affusti rossi. In dicembre 1760, RI Salisburgo e RI Kurtrier were quarter at Hof. The I^o Battaglione marched to Münchberg on dicembre 15, followed by II^o Battaglione on 18 dicembre 1760. At the Battle of Freiberg, 29 Oktober 1762, the reggimento fought on the right flank of the imperial Reichsarmee, under General-Leutnant von Rosenfeld.

• black tricorno hat without edging, red/white pompom
• dark brown fur cap for granatieri, con yellow grenade e red bag

2^o Reggimento di Circolo Bavarese had a uniform of Austrian pattern. Moschettieri wore tricorne hats without edging, granatieri had brown fur caps.
