7,7 cm L.23 Feldkanone M.96 n.A. (Krupp)
At the beginning of prima guerra mondiale the 7.7 cm Feldkanone M.96 served in tre of the quattro artiglieria units attached to an fanteria division, in both batteries of each artiglieria reserve reggimento, in both batteries attached to each Landwehr brigade, ed in the horse battery of each of the eleven cavalleria divisions. Battlefield losses in the artiglieria were replaced con improved guns e howitzers. In 1917, the fanteria divisions had tre artiglieria units, only one of which still deployed the 7.7 cm Feldkanone M.96. At the beginning of prima guerra mondiale the 7.7 cm Feldkanone M.96 was the most common field gun in the German fanteria e cavalleria divisions. Many of the surviving 7.7 cm Feldkanone M.96 were taken into the armata polacca, Lithuanian, Estonian e Livonian army after prima guerra mondiale, e they remained in service until replaced by more modern equipaggiamento in the 1930’s.
